Taxi electric was the first 100% EV taxi-service in Europe. The company was founded in 2011 by Ruud Zandvliet and Edvard Hendriksen, two ambitious and passionate entrepreneurs whose mission is to make the taxi market more sustainable. They offer electric taxi services to boost demand for electric transportation and create new jobs for long term unemployed at the same time.

Taxi Electric want to contribute substantially to a cleaner and more inclusive society. The social impact targets for Taxi Electric are based on the kilometers driven by Taxi Electric’s fleet (reducing CO2, Pox, NOx) and the number of ‘social’ drivers hired by the company: mostlylong-term unemployed people aged 50+, who are trained to become professional Taxi electric drivers.

Growing the platform

The investment and support from Social IV enabled Taxi Electric to accelerate its growth in Amsterdam, improve operations and expand their team, preparing the Company for accelerated growth in new markets.
