Incision

Using technology to improve surgical care

No matter where on this planet you go to a hospital, you should be able to get the best surgical care. Scale-up Incision is on a mission to empower medical professionals and reduce surgical complications worldwide through a surgical knowledge platform and standardization tool. With step-by-step 3D instruction videos and workflow tools the company ensures hospital OR staff are better prepared for surgery, leading to better surgical outcomes.

A patients’ geographical location plays a significant role in their access to the best medical care. Unfortunately only a small sub-set of people have access to top quality surgical care in top clinics in high-resource countries. This leads to a huge difference in expected outcome of surgical operations with serious implications for the quality of life of patients. An estimated half a million avoidable deaths related to surgery happen every year.

5 billion people lack access to safe and affordable surgical care and 143 million additional surgeries are needed every year. Incision’s mission is to increase access to best in class knowledge to empower surgeons and OR staff as well as reduce health complications resulting from avoidable mistakes in surgical operations.

Rubio’s spotlight on Incision from Rubio on Vimeo.

By providing a platform with best-in-class procedures, surgeons and the broader OR team get a faster and higher quality surgical education. The step-by-step learning of Incision’s Academy allows faster advancement of knowledge, faster education and better exchange of skills and knowledge. Ultimately, Incision is building towards a ‘Google Maps for surgery’.

Ritsaart van Montfrans: “At Incision we believe that everybody should have access to the best surgical care, and that by creating a platform we can ensure that every clinic in the world can achieve a performance at par with top clinics. We are very happy that Rubio has joined our shareholder base as they share our vision and drive to reach out goal of connecting 10,000 clinics.
