Female Invest

Female Invest is on a mission to close the gender wealth gap. With their financial learning platform and community for women (not excluding men), they empower women to improve their financial literacy, become more independent, reduce vulnerability to economic downturns, and ensure long-term financial security. On their platform, everyone can learn how to invest, simulate investments, and, by 2025, make actual investments. This empowers women to benefit from potential compounding returns and reduce the wealth gap.

Huge financial gender gap

The financial gender gap is vast, driven by many inequalities that result in significant disparities in wealth accumulation between men and women. For example, in the USA, women own only $0.32 for every $1 that men own. In Europe, men have 24% more wealth than women on average. At the current rate of progress, it will take 169 years to reach full financial gender parity. Even if the gender pay gap were to disappear, women would still face economic disadvantages. The gender investment gap also contributes to a significant pension gap. In the UK, for example, women retire with an average pension savings of £69,000, compared to £205,000 for men. Women also tend to live approximately six years longer than men, increasing the risk of outliving their savings.

Empowering women to take ownership of their finances

With their platform and community Female Invest helps women improve their financial knowledge, learn how to invest and improve their financial wellbeing. When more women take ownership of their finances, two things happen: They get more money and they get more power. The latter is crucial as it enables women to make independent decisions and advocate for values they care about, such as impact investing.

Expansion into the UK and US

We are enthusiastic about Female Invest’s platform and approach. Closing the gender wealth gap contributes to overall economic growth, significantly reduces poverty rates, and has a positive intergenerational impact, as improving women’s wealth directly benefits children’s educational and health outcomes. Alongside fellow (impact) investors Sparkmind (Finland) and Educapital (France), we are committed to accelerate Female Invest expansion into the UK and US and building a subscription-based investment platform.
