An economic model based on nature restoration
According to the World Economic Forum, nearly $44 trillion in economic value depends on nature. That is more than half of global GDP! Despite this, our nature or biodiversity is under severe pressure and its value is hardly recognised. In a new (Dutch) column for De Ondernemer, our partner Willemijn Verloop reflect on the impact of this, also following the bizarre lack of understanding by the European Parliament, which last month rejected a European Commission proposal on sustainable use of plant protection products notably to halve the use pesticide use by 2030.
The column highlights some great examples of entrepreneurs who are leading the way with regenerative business models such as Wilder Land, SOLASTA Bio and Sprinklr Plants.
